adiPRENE®
adiPRENE® is an excellent impact-absorbing material in the rearfoot of adidas shoes to provide you with long-term cushioning and comfort.
adiprene®+
adiprene®+ is a lightweight cushioning material with excellent flexibility used in the forefoot of adidas shoes to absorb impact and to give you a dynamic, responsive feel.
adiWEAR®
adiWEAR ® is an extremely durable, non-marking rubber used for adidas sport shoe outsoles in high abrasion areas to avoid early wear and tear.
ForMotion™
ForMotion™ ensures that your foot lands smoothly when you hit the ground. In addition, it can take up to 40% of critical forces that might trigger running related injuries in the lower leg. Most importantly it works for any type of runner and is accordingly featured in various types of running shoes.
GeoFIT™
GeoFIT ™ is an anatomically correct padding in the rear part of the upper that hugs around your heel and follows the form of your foot. What you feel is an improved snug fit, increased comfort and an enhanced sense of security and stability.
NoSeam
By molding, rather than stitching the upper together, seams are eliminated. This makes for a lighter, more comfortable shoe. A reduction or complete absence of seams gives running shoes a more comfortable fit while also eliminating the chance of chafing or other skin irritations.
pro-moderator™
pro-moderator™ is a really lightweight protective support on certain running shoe’s inner midsole that prevents you rolling too much to the inside with your feet upon landing. In doing so, the risk of getting running-related injury patterns is reduced. As you are looking for a stable yet lightweight running shoe this one with pro-moderator™ will work very well for you!
TORSION® SYSTEM
The Torsion® System stabilizes your midfoot in all sport-specific movements and enhances control, support and fit. It acts like an arch support under the midfoot and allows you to best adapt to the surface you are running or playing on. It allows your foot to move more natural when making ground contact no matter if you are a runner or playing sports such as Tennis or Indoor sports.

Product Description

Supreme comfort comes standard in the adidas® adiSTAR Salvation men's running shoe. FORMOTION™ technology works against overpronation, and the fitFOAM™ midsole provides springy, lightweight cushioning. The adiWEAR® outsole contains flex grooves to enhance the foot's natural motion, ensuring a smooth ride.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Structured Running Shoe, December 28, 2009
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I had severe pain in my knees and an ankle from running in shoes without proper support. About 1-2 weeks after running in these shoes, my problems were gone. The shoe has good structure for over-pronation. Shoe is light and breathes well. The heel portion of the sole is split and flexible which dissipates impact with the ground. The only small problem is that rocks will get stuck in the split. The air pocket of the heel also took in a bit of water while running on a wet/muddy trail. It's a great support shoe for street running or smooth/dry trails.

5.0 out of 5 stars Adidas gets it right!, March 17, 2009

This review is from: adidas Men's adiStar Salvation Running Shoe (Apparel)
There are many very good brands of running shoes, not to mention styles and function. I guess it all boils down to personal preference, but in my case, at 5'8" and weighing in at 190lbs, because of my muscle building workouts, these are just fantastic at cushioning each and every step that I take.

This as many expert runners know, minimizes pain and fatigue, thereby making you run more efficiently. I first tried these on at an Adidas store, and I was impressed with how light and comfortable they are and because they are true to size, not too long, short, wide or narrow, which is exactly what I want.

The only other shoe that I would try in my particular case, are the Brooks Adrenaline GTS8, which are the ones that I am just retiring. These shoes are absolutely amazing as well, very comfortable, light and stylish, I actually like their more simple design over the Adidas, but I decided to give Adidas a try for now.

Nevertheless, the GTS 8, are the only ones that actually put me in contact with the surface that I am running on, while at the same time providing me the support and cushion that I need.

For now, I feel that this Adidas pair, will provide me great impact support, because of the way it is designed, the materials and especially the split heel on the sole, which pretty much diffuses impact energy outwards throughout the shoe.

In short, I need to run more efficiently and for longer periods of time, with minimal amount of discomfort and I feel that these shoes will do the trick!

4.0 out of 5 stars Overall good shoe, June 9, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This is a pretty good running shoe with tons of good cushion - good for a 205 lb guy like me that covers 30 miles or so in a week. I was able to put four miles on them the first night I pulled them out of the box. My only complaint is the design of the heel. Adidas seperated one side of the heel from the other, I think to reduce weight, but I live in the desert and constantly get rocks stuck in it. The split in the middle also isn't great for lateral movement, so I wouldn't recommend this shoe for cross training or as a common athletic shoe. If you are just looking to straight-up log miles, you'll be happy with the Salvation.
