AdiStar Ride just as I expected!,

I've gone from the Cushion 5, 6 and 7 (2 of each) to the Ride (the Cushion being the older version, now the Ride) and this pair has met all the expectations that I thought they would. I don't have to bother with "wearing them in" or anything like that. Got them, put them on, ran 5.5 miles, and it was like I had my old pair on in terms of the fit...I've never had a problem with any of the Adidas I've bought, and these are no exception! I have a slightly high arch, I'm 6'1" and I'm not a die-hard runner, but the simple fact that I don't have to worry about shoes hurting my feet make this style of Adidas one that I won't vary away from. I've been wearing them for years and I can say the same about the last 6 pairs I've owned!

Better than I thought Possible!,

***Update***
As I continued to run in this shoe I found a severe problem with it and changed my rating from 5 stars to 2 stars. As the shoe became worn, the padding in the sole wore more quickly on the outside of the shoe causing my foot to rotate too far to the outside while I ran (over-correction). This happened so gradually that I didn't even notice until one day I couldn't run because of the severe pain in my outer tendon that runs from the bottom of my foot, around the outside of my ankle and up the side/back of my leg. I had only put 350 miles on the shoes. After x-rays and some thorough discussions, my orthopaedist agrees that the degradation of the padding caused micro-tears in my tendon - a pretty hefty injury for such low mileage on the shoe. When we sat the shoes on the flat table and looked at them from the back it was very evident how badly they were sloped. I was sorely disappointed since the shoe fit and ran so well when I first bought them. I am only 5'4, 130 pounds and expected more - at least for the padding to wear evenly since I tend to overpronate and would have thought the inner padding would have broken down faster? Be careful, there is a new release of this shoe out now - the Adistar Ride 3 - hopefully Adidas has identified and resolved this problem in the new release. I still love this shoe, just watch the wear on them to avoid injury. Who knows, maybe I got a defective pair, I did buy them at the Adidas Outlet after all. ***Original Post*** I have worn Adidas running shoes for years now. I started several years back with the original Adistar Control shoe and stayed with it through it's many upgrades, up to the Adistar Control 7 release, which was when it became discontinued. I was heartbroken and in search of another excellent control shoe that also provided adequate cushioning for long, demanding runs on the pavement. I stumbled upon the Adistar Ride 2 when my local outlet store received a shipment of overstocks. As soon as I put the shoes on, I felt like I could fly. They are perfectly cushioned and formed with an excellent arch support and not too much rotation to position the foot correctly to avoid hip, knee and ankle pain and injury. I took them out the next day for a five mile run and they did not require any break in time at all. My feet were comfortable the entire time. One thing I like in particular with this shoe is the forward motion it encourages as you run. While the cushioning is adequate in the toe-box of the shoe, you can tell there is just a little less of it so your foot feels as though it is slightly pointed down, it makes picking up your heel and pushing off the front of your foot extremely easy and natural, no clump-clump-clump of flat footedness. I've ran about 100 miles in them so far and they are still just as comfortable as the first day. The materials inside and out are holding up extremely well but I don't run through many harsh elements such as water, mud, rocks, etc... I stick to paved roads and the occasional dirt path. I had loved the original Adistar Control so much, I didn't think Adidas could improve it's design much but I was wrong. This shoe has surpassed my expectation and provides a pain-free and comfortable run.

They are true to fit and nicely cushioned. Breaking them in was not too pain (only one small blister!) They have a netted material ontop, which is kinda weird, but I found it worked well to keep my feet dry.

I love this shoe! I got the same exact shoe last time too. I am an avid runner and have bunions and feet problems, but this shoe does great with my feet. Its a good width and doesn't agravate my bunion at all!

I ordered these women's shoes on line and they are just like the ones I bought last year at the running store. The new addidas model shoes are narrow on the soles, so I went retro and got the ones that fit. Very happy with these.

These shoes replaced the previous Adistar pair that helped me during the training and through the Totonto marathon last year. Great shoes for an overpronated foot. Love the hidden compartment to place nike running sensor. Just as comfy as the old pair.

These shoes are extremly comfortable and the size was right on target. The look is classic, the materials are top-notch, the feel is unreal. If you want the best, buy these shoes.
