The game is rated E for Everyone. I think this game would be great for kids or adults.. Adults will get further and unlock more of the secret books and rooms since they'll have bigger vocabularies. But kids can still spell shorter words and have fun with it too. A lot of words that you spell have definitions, so it could be a little educational (I know I've learned a few words myself). My kid is only 2, so it'll be a little while before he's ready :) I've been a Bookworm fan for a while, and I'm glad I can play on the DS now.
This is great for readers of any age. The classic mode has no timer, so they can take as long as they want or need. The action mode calls for "speed" reading, but my 8-year-old is getting good at that.
Do you think a 6 yr old (who reads on a 1st grade level) will be able to play this? Are the directions spoken or written? What about those nifty definitions... are they spoken or written? Is it pretty much intuitive?
