Although I am still not sure how it fits in the Macondo universe I considered this book worth reading but not even close to earlier books. I think it goes back to the too soon to be over Garcia Marques magic realism. The pictures are very suggestive, in particular those reflecting the caribean scene ( the dog and the boats speak volumes ). A little too many of the cute guy though ( if this is what the reader is looking for, it is easier and cheaper to get Muscle Fitness ). Seems to me that hard die life long Gabo readers deserve a little better.

Gabriel García Márquez is the greatest living author in the world. I have been a fan of his since I read One Hundred Years of Solitude. Anything he writes is great. Read this book!
