Book Description

A new pope, a new terror, and an explosive secret.

Following the murder of a Pope by Muslim extremists and the election of a charismatic young successor, spontaneous anti-Islamic protests break out across the world. When they culminate in horrific acts of Christian terrorism, Father Michael Swift is ordered to disprove allegations of Church complicity. He finds finds something quite different - not one but two conspiracies surrounding the new Pope. They threaten his own life and the survival of the Church itself.

3.0 out of 5 stars A Pope who encourages terrorism? July 5, 2013
By Rob
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
What would happen if there was a suspicion that a major Christian denomination, say Roman Catholicism, encouraged an act of reprisal terrorism? Well all hell would break loose but what about if the Pope was not a man of caution and was blunt but charismatic?
This is an insider hunt for the truth about a situation spiralling out of control.
Of course the hero is a man with demons of his own who just happens to be a priest.
Plenty of twists and turns and I think (because I have not read it) not a bit like 'The Da Vinci Code'. It has no supernatural elements or ancient conspiracies, just modern conspiracies of wheels within wheels. The plot is a page turner with one surprise after the other.

4.0 out of 5 stars By All That's Holy September 6, 2011
Format:Kindle Edition
By All That's Holy starts with a gut wrenching scene that really gets the adrenalin pumping and from then on provides aficionados of crime fiction with more twists and turns than a proverbial cork screw. This is Roy Carter's first novel and he keeps the reader in a state of constant suspense and anticipation about the final outcome, which is one of the most surprising in this genre I have ever read.

Roy has certainly done his homework on this book and his depictions of the inner most workings of Catholicism in general and the Vatican in particular make fascinating reading in their own right.
If you enjoy your crime fiction with a whiff on incense, intrigue and potentially illicit priestly love, this novel is for you.
