By All That's Holy starts with a gut wrenching scene that really gets the adrenalin pumping and from then on provides aficionados of crime fiction with more twists and turns than a proverbial cork screw. This is Roy Carter's first novel and he keeps the reader in a state of constant suspense and anticipation about the final outcome, which is one of the most surprising in this genre I have ever read.

Roy has certainly done his homework on this book and his depictions of the inner most workings of Catholicism in general and the Vatican in particular make fascinating reading in their own right.
If you enjoy your crime fiction with a whiff on incense, intrigue and potentially illicit priestly love, this novel is for you.

What would happen if there was a suspicion that a major Christian denomination, say Roman Catholicism, encouraged an act of reprisal terrorism? Well all hell would break loose but what about if the Pope was not a man of caution and was blunt but charismatic?
This is an insider hunt for the truth about a situation spiralling out of control.
Of course the hero is a man with demons of his own who just happens to be a priest.
Plenty of twists and turns and I think (because I have not read it) not a bit like 'The Da Vinci Code'. It has no supernatural elements or ancient conspiracies, just modern conspiracies of wheels within wheels. The plot is a page turner with one surprise after the other.
