More About the Author

Kara Keating is the author of spirituality and interfaith books detailing the journey to the spiritual, mystical life. Her first book, I am Enough by God, chronicles her own journey out of self-improvement to reach a deep sense of self-acceptance. She is an ardent believer that every person is already whole just as they are created by God. She also believes that we are all on a human journey to be the fullest expression of our souls.

Kara is the founder of Interspiritual Ministries, which is a non-profit organization dedicated to low-cost spiritual counseling and spiritual support groups that help people create soulful lives. She believes that we are all interconnected and that we can support each other on the human/spiritual journey. Kara is also currently in seminary working toward her ordination in interfaith ministry and spiritual counseling.

I would recommend this read to everyone, espescially if you are going through a difficult time.

I only gave it three stars because at times, especially in the beginning it appeared the author repeated a concept often rather than once or twice.

This book has given me the courage and the tools to look within myself to find the peace that I am looking for.

I did get a few things from this book. It is an excellent study on how the mind operates and I appreciate it for bringing that up, in an exquisite way.

I might not be willing to purchase it yet (I got it free), I would prefer a little more editing, to give it five stars (to me too much time is spent on the issues and not enough on resolutions. But that is just me saying I got tired of reading about failed attempts (repeatedly)). And the cynicism probably wasn't needed...a few too many broad strokes, in my humble view.

Since this is a very talented author....probably already hard at it (or just moving on to new writings, with all their energy).

I, like the author, have been a self-help junkie - looking externally for the answers as to why I felt depressed, scared and disconnected most of the time. This book has given me the courage and the tools to look within myself to find the peace that I am looking for. It is a beautifully written, inspiring and honest account of the author's journey to self-acceptance and peace. In many ways, it felt as though she was writing about my life - the people, the circumstances, and the stories I tell myself. So, save your money and time on self-help books and read this instead! The best investment in yourself you could make if you're looking for peace.

Kara Keating explores finding peace in your life, just where you are and with what you already have. Speaking frankly as a woman who has explored her own self in relation to religion, spirituality, and popular culture, Kara walks you through her journey to learn that she is enough just as God (however you define God) has created her to be in this moment. She explores her relationship with herself, other people, vocations, money, time, and love. Walk with her as she reclaims her soul and her authentic life, and along the way you might find your own.

I just found out that I do not need to change who I really am!!! She gives insights to all avenues of my life that I thought I was deficient at and changed to a new level of looking at things. God created me to be me. This is a must read for anyone who is tired of trying to change their lives to accommodate other people in their lives. I AM enough by God!

it was interesting reading about the author's road to "enough," but seriously: punctuation MATTERS. running the spelling checker is not the same thing. and a dev editor would have been a huge help. i laughed out loud several times when the author discussed why various self-help methodologies "didn't work," because it was clear she'd grossly misinterpreted their intent, and yet her "solutions" were, in fact, what was intended all along. for instance, her observation that (to paraphrase) "affirmations don't work because you have to believe them"--exactly. it's great that she reached a place in her spiritual journey that works for her, but this book seems more like an expression of the giant chip on her shoulder from "wasting her money" on "useless" self-help materials (kinda like her own book).

Its a difficult read. The writer keeps hammering on the same thing and I wondered if I had lost my place in the book.

I loved this book. It uplifts you. I really related to the author. I have spent years trying to force myself to be something I wasn't. The older I got, the more fruhstrated I became that life wasn't turning out my way. The author has a beautiful ways at looking at the world. I would recommend this read to everyone, espescially if you are going through a difficult time.

This book was really helpful in that I truly now believe I am enough. I only gave it three stars because at times, especially in the beginning it appeared the author repeated a concept often rather than once or twice. Books that are direct and get to the point quickly hold my interest longer. I thought about not finishing the book but glad I did, really learned from the authors writings about money (debt)!
