For Joe....Written after reading the manuscript for Joe Mathes' book The Amnesia Factor.

Soul chooses again, a Son is born

And drinks once more the Earthen cup.

And so Forgets, and does not know

The Royal Hand that bore him up.

Through Time, through Space, he crawls, he walks,

He runs, and flies, rattles the bars.

His fleshy prison holds him fast

And stays his mind, now fixed on Stars.

Ah Stars! The wheeling galaxies!

Ah hears desire! To find a Home.

To venture out to farthest reach

Of Worlds not seen, yet dimly known.

Til dark despair, the Truth eludes,

And violates the seeking Will.

The reigning Hand becomes a Voice.

A word is given, 'My lad, be still!'

The Cosmos halts, the Eons are Now.

He slips in quiet through consciousness cleft,

And going down, returns again

To the Golden Land he never left.
