Amie - for the Kindle you can use Norton Mobile Security - Kindle Tablet Edition

For other Android devices the Google Play store has "Norton Security antivirus."

Both the above are *free*. Hope these are helpful to you and others.

Much malware is now written for Android and some for iPhones because they are such a huge target.
Be careful in what **permissions are in the apps you use**. I would be more concerned about them and unknown software authors than just viruses. The entire app in some cases are collectors for your personal contacts and accounts.

For a startling example, look at the permissions for Skype. If you have not heard of the application's authors and they demand permissions you would worry about, think twice. If the permissions really have no logical place e.g., your contacts and accounts should not matter to a silly game, then think carefully and be choosy.

You would never allow such intrusions in your PC or Mac software. Support authors who do not insist on such intrusive permissions for your phone.
