5.0 out of 5 stars Infectious tunes, October 25, 2000

When I bought this CD, it got stuck in my CD player. No matter, because after 15 times through, I was still not tired of it. This album has tight vocals and harmonies with crafted melodies--all of the things you would expect from a well-produced collection of great music. This is the kind of music you will find yourself humming in the car. Well done.

5.0 out of 5 stars I keep playing this CD over and over!, October 18, 2000
This review is from: any place at all (Audio CD)
These two musicians are extemely talented, but the best part of their duo is how comfortable they each are with their respective roles. The music is well-written, well-played, well-sung and magically melded. The blend reminds me of some of the great duos of our recent times: Fagan and Becker, Loggins and Messina, Crosby and Stills, Simon and Garfunkel, Hall and Oates, even Lennon and McCartney. Behind each of these duos was excellent songwriting, flawless musicianship, and exceptional harmony. Straw Dogs plays the kind of music that makes you glad to be alive on Earth. Like a good book, I'm a little sad when the CD is over. Fortunately, I can just listen to it again!

5.0 out of 5 stars i wanna be a roadie for these guys, September 29, 2000

addictive hooks, stirring lyrics, and some truly incredible harmonies - this cd is the absolute pinnacle of acoustic folk rock. but it's more: the intricately woven words elevate each of these songs from heartfelt pop to musical poetry. you couldn't ask for twelve more perfect songs, or two more talented musicians to sing them.

all that, and they seem like nice guys, too.

if you're curious, download "all my days" and "these ashes" from mp3.com.

This review is from: any place at all (Audio CD)
Any Place at all with it's accoustic theme and fantastic harmonies delivers a sweet soothing experience that includeds some country. A great alternative to the hard aggresive music that you gear on the radio.
