Diesel Cat says:
For those folks lamenting the His Dark Materials books as being underhanded and dangerously subversive to the delicate minds of children, I ask you this: Have you seen the movie "Jesus Camp"? I ask because the utter manipulation of the children in that movie remains stucks in my mind. Pastor Becky Fischer is standing in front of her fragile flock of young, young children, and she asks them if they think they are good Christians. They say yes, and she says, no, they might think they are, but don't they stray? Don't they not always follow God? And the children all start to cry. Tears of terror that they are not good Christians. This is the preface to their days at camp, where they now double and redouble their efforts to please the good Pastor. Please her as she and her counselers pass around plastic fetuses, and extol the evils of abortion. To CHILDREN....If you want to talk about subversive religious propaganda directed at small kids, see this movie, first.

I haven't seen it, but I must ask you:

Have you ever been to a Christian camp?

That one sounds unusual and cultish, at best.
