Can you make anything other than rice with this? Anyone try to cook anything else in this appliance? Any luck?

I also use it for various breakfast cereals - oatmeal, quinoa, steel cut oats,
etc. 2 parts water to 1 part cereal has worked for me in every case. It's important for a cooker this size to use no more than a rounded 1/3 cup or less of cereal to avoid boil over. If you want to make cereal for more than one person get a larger cooker.

Thanks - that encourages me to experiment. The first thing I tried after rice was oatmeal but got the proportions wrong and it boiled over into a great disaster! With a lot less liquid now I don't use any other method for steel-cut oats - so easy!
