These were just what I wanted. They are a classic riding style boot. They are definitely for stick legs. I've rarely buy boots because my calves are so thin. I can usually just pull on most zippered boots. Not these! They actually hug my legs. Not sure I could tuck in my skinny jeans. Haven't worn them outside the living room, but are really comfortable so far. Won't wear them for a while as I live in South Louisiana and it's rarely cold enough for lined boots - bought them for northbound winter trips.

UPDATE: 12/28/10. Still love these boots. I've gotten many compliments on them and was even stopped twice last winter in Ohio about them. Wore them all over Ohio and Washington, D.C. in the big snowstorms in late January/February. Slid once on some ice, but everybody around me was sliding so thinking it was more the conditions and not the shoes. Holding up well and still look nice. I just wipe them down with a damp cloth to clean. I am able to tuck in my skinny jeans. Wearing them here in S. La. a lot more than I expected to. They are very comfortable and warm - don't need wool or fleece socks in them like my leather boots. Especially good on rainy days as I'm a teacher and have bus duty every afternoon - don't need an extra pair of shoes for work anymore! Considering buying another pair in a different color.

These boots are very good looking, but the leg ran tight! Boo-hoo. And, no, I don't have fat calves. They would have been perfect, but the leg-cut is patterned for stick legs.

These are beautiful boots however one problem Santana has is that they make the calf size of some of their taller boots too small. I have an AVERAGE sized calf. No one would say my calves are large or muscular (they're quite lovely actually) and this is the first pair of boots I have not been able to even put on. If you do have those stick calves, then they're a great buy but for the rest of us, the 95% who don't, these will be unwearable.
