They encounter a furious wild pig and a placid woolly mammoth. Boog kidnaps the youngsters to start his own clan -- expecting that Mikla will admire him so much that she will become his mate. She hates him! Using their newly invented language skills, the captives escape and return to the familiar cave of "The Word People." This classroom friendly novel uses gender equity.
