We Are All Cylons is a visionary take on the profoundly resonant series Battlestar Galactica. Through interviews with cast members and fans, the film explores the areas where science fiction meets reality. Actors describe the challenges they faced playing characters that discover they're not human, and fans explain their deep emotional and intellectual connections to the program. Issues such as rapidly advancing technology, the malleability of identity, and the role and representation of the military in contemporary life are examined. Tethered to reality while at times blurring the line between documentary and science fiction, We Are All Cylons examines the complex relationship between viewers and Battlestar Galactica's depiction of artificial intelligence, consciousness, notions of the divine, and what makes us human in the digital age. In pursuing the afterlife of a television series into the real world, We Are All Cylons is a tribute to the power of art and the people it inspires. Directors Statement: A transmission, grounded as an entertainment, begins. Its dynamic message connects with people throughout the world. The viewer, who then becomes a fan, is compelled to spread and share the message. The story leaks in to the real world because it resonates with real lives -- a feedback loop of projection on the transmission medium has been created. The word enthusiasm comes from entheos, meaning "having god within." We Are All Cylons investigates our very human enthusiasm for technology and myth by examining the metaphysical resonances of the television series Battlestar Galactica. This project is motivated in part by the intersections of technology and culture at the level of the individual, and the impact of these intersections on our lives. Specifically, We Are All Cylons explores the possibility of technological and biological immanence -- transcendence manifest in the m

This film interweaves multiple aspects of Battlestar Galactica that can be fun for both the fan and the one-time viewer. It covers the quirky world of sci-fi fandom from the perspectives of both the fans and the actors. It explores BSG's more profound currents, such as the question of what is humanity. Having seen only one episode of BSG, I had initially worried that the film wouldn't resonate with me, but was pleasantly surprised. I wish someone would develop similar documentaries focusing on other obsessively popular and profound TV shows. Star Trek and Dexter come to mind.

I had the great pleasure of seeing this fantastic documentary, We Are All Cylons, this past winter. I was truly blown away. It was so much better than I expected. Crisp, pulsating direction and so much stuff I did not know about Battleship Galactica. I wasn't a huge fan of the show but since seeing this fine film, I watched many of the old episodes again. I will definitely purchase a DVD of this remarkable film for myself and close friends. What a treat that it is now available.

If you, like me, were an avid fan of Battlestar Galactica, you were crushed when the series was over. Now you can revisit the characters and themes of BSG (and even some of the actual actors from the series, interviewed by the filmmaker in this thought-provoking documentary), and immerse yourself again in the big ideas that the series raised. Meeting some of the even MORE avid fans who like to dress as and imagine themselves as the characters in the show is fascinating as well. The filmmaker relates to these individuals with interest and respect, and makes us understand what drives this level of fandom. This is a painstakingly made and truly independent film.

I saw this film when it premiered at Sci-Fi London in 2011 and I am so happy to see that it is now available on Amazon. This smart engaging film explores the themes of Battlestar Galactica and the passion of its fans, with tremendous sympathy and dignity, while remaining accessible to those who have never seen the show. BSG fans, skeptics and the curious should all take 45 minutes to watch this documentary. Here is more on the film: [...]

$ 7.99 for a 43 minute documentary???? I would watch this but for all I know it is a home video. It doesn't even have a release date. Aside from narration by the actors who played Cylons in BSG, what recommends this to anyone? If you want people to buy a product, you need to give them some relevant info. But honestly, $ 1.99 seems more appropriate
