Art of the Foil, April 6, 2011
This review is from: The art of the foil (Hardcover)
I ordered this book because the great late Bruce Lee had a copy of it in
his personal library. He was a huge fan of fencing and in fact, based his
personal martial art expression, Jeet Kune Do on many fencing principles and
techniques. He was so influenced by fencing that he named his art after the
fencing terms, "interception or stop hit".
Although I have no formal fencing training I found this book interesting and
informative. Keep in mind that the original printing of this book was 1932.
I feel that this book would be better suited for someone with fencing training
or perhaps to an individual who is interested in the strategy and history of
fencing. This is not a how to book.
