There are Velcro dividers that come with the case to section off compartments in the case. I have created two other compartments one of which holds my 70-300mm lens with the shade attached in the storage position. If I took the shade off of the 70-300 lens I could probably store a second lens in the second compartment. The interior dimensions are 6 1/4" H, 11" L, 5" W. The walls of the case are well padded as are the Velcro dividers giving your components good protection during handling. The protective dividers are about 3/8" thick. see less

There shouldn't be any problems putting other Nikon SLR cameras in the case. The dividers are removable or you can move them around to put different equipment in. I am constantly changing the layout in my case to suit my needs.

This bag is about 7 inch deep/wide and 12 inch long if not counting the two side pouches. Not heavy. I did put my SLR camera and two lenc, 3 batteries, two chargers, my purse, my phone, even some candies for my young kid.

it looks pretty much like the one I bought - compartments seem to be about the same size. I love my bag - it holds everything! Although I paid much more for mine - around $50.

Yes It would be just fine for a D5300 ,a couple lenses and a flash. That and some small items like battery's memory ect.
