CWeetgal, It's really a great tool and it works. I haven't used it while sewing light weight material(yet). It works well on silk back crepe & silk duponi....From one sew-ist to another; it's great to have in your tool box.

Yes it will work on your machine. You will need to make sure to on the shank tight and straight, the "arm" will fit around the needle clamp, but be careful the blade is very sharp. You can also check out Singer's Tutorials on YouTube. Trust me you will love this attachment.

First make sure you have it on correctly and that is straight and screwed on tight. If that doesn't work, you might have to adjust your settings and make sure the fabric feed dogs are moving the fabric. Make sure you cut the corner of the fabric so it will feed through. I used to have tat problem when I first tried the side cutter, one I reinstalled and adjusted both my tension and stitch length, it started seeing like a dream. That was on my Singer 6160, so I tried on my Vintage Singer 403A and it worked. Good luck. see less
