Answer:
this camera works in lighted places but in total darkness you will not be able to see anything, but you can try to use it with an Infared light as you know the infared will not emit any visible light but the camera will see it and I think you'll be happy with the results, I hope my humble opinion helps you and Happy hunting.

If the camera hooks on something it may pull out of the holder but it will snap back in. I suggest you keep the lanyard attached to prevent loosing the camera if it pops out. The clip is adequate for most uses. I use it daylee in my LEO work. It is great for captering the audio and video of a situation with the time and date stamp it will hold up in court as evidence. see less

I'm not a cop, but I'm sure that in PDs that permit this that they would be. It's perfect. It's small, light and well built. I've shot continuously for up to 3 hours with it. The picture is damn good. If you use the VOX you can record for even longer since it will only run when audio is present.

Yes you could put it in your shirt pocket but it will make the pocket sag, so I fixed that with a piece of thin cardboard (or plastic) something rigid and thin cut to width of the pocket and a little taller so you can clip the camera on it. You could also easily put it inside a baseball cap with a little ingenuity.
Possiblities are endless.
The DATE/TIME STAMP CANNOT be removed from the video...so it's perfect for evidence...caveat being your locale's legal restrictions of recording.
Price is right too!
PS: To set the time/date stamp is tricky, the easiest way is to install the small application that comes on the CD. Even still, it will take you a few tries to get it right.
PSS: In fact I'm buying another one right now for a nephew that is headed for a nasty divorce. see less
