Best option for increasing range is to get better antennas and to use good cables preferably LMR400 low loss and like 15dbi outside antennas 3 of each to be exact and keep cable length to a minimum to get less signal loss. Cheap antennas found on amazon / ebay tend to be garbage and are often 90% no better than the oems and often worse. see less

I believe you can. But to be honest I'm currently running DD-WRT on it (which I know for a FACT will let you do it, I use DD-WRT on another router to do just that).

Do you mean what is the IP, or what is the return time for the packet?
When I ping my RT-N16 which is left at the default IP of 192.168.1.1, I get a return time between 0 and one million nanoseconds.
Sometimes the return ACK packet arrives before I even type the ping command! Have mercy.

Some says tomato. Others say Ddwrt. I use the latter and it works fine. It an easier install and configure too. It your choice really. Read around and make a guided decision. Best wishes.

Yes, they're removeable. In fact they are shipped detached in the box.
Pretty sure the connection is reverse SMA so with the right adapter, yes you can hook up something larger. Don't know how the multi-antenna output would play with that type of setup though.
