Canon xt what? This softbox is for speedlite flash such as the 430 or 580 series flash. The softbox does not come with a cord. I'd buy the cowboy studio remotes were I you and dispense with the costly off camera flash cords. If you mean a canon rebel xt camera then no this item does not mount a camera body.

It's not a light bulb. It's designed to work with a speedlight flash on a radio transmitter. Google "speedlite" and you'll the type of flash I'm talking about.

As the previous respondent mentioned, it will pretty much work with all external hotshoe type flashes.
I have SB600/700/800/900 and they will all work on it as well as non-Nikon flashes such as Youngno.
