If you want to stream music from your phone (or other BT devices ) through a system which does not have BT, you plug this into any audio in jack and your set! I have mine playing through a Bose lifestyle system. I use the AUX jack. Saves me from having to hardwire the phone using the headphone jack.

I'm guessing it would work with a tape input, but probably not with the phono input. Unless it is a newer type of system, the phono inputs used different line levels. The tape input shoudl work though. I use the CD input on my system and it works just fine.

This device will work with any audio that comes from your Bluetooth compatible device. So yes, it will work with Pandora, Spotify, Google Play, and locally-stored music. However, I absolutely can NOT recommend this device. Everything you play through it will sound like you're listening through a tin can.

The idea of the device is to add bluetooth where you don't have it. If your receiver device has the ability to accept a stereo 3.5mm jack it should work no problem. Essentially you are pairing your iPad to the Belkin device the belkin device then sends the audio to the receiver via 3.5mm aux cable.
