Hi, we were having problems with Chromecast until we enabled "Enable IGMP Snooping". This setting is under "Advanced Settings -> Wireless -> Professional" tab at http://192.168.1.1/. Since enabling this, Chromecast has been working flawlessly.

I have not needed to do a reboot for any issue since I got it, and I'm a moderately heavy data user. Last reboot was over 6 months ago, due to a Cable Modem replacement.

You must have a cable modem. You connect the cable to the modem and then connect an Ethernet cable from the cable modem to the Asus router.
