You should do fine with this camera - I love my Vi and use it often, as I am not always lugging 25lbs of d800 and the three 2.8 zoom lenses I use.

Nikons are very popular cameras. The V1 is part of the 1 series. A fairly new Nikon brand but very good. I've used mine to shoot sport photography. It has worked out very well. However once, after a full day of shooting, it got hot and stopped working but after an hour or so it was fine again.

Frankly I Don't Know i am an owner but not a technician. 1 thing i do know is Because it is a Single Chip camera it cant capture the colors of the Fireworks like a 3 chip camera can. Happy 4th of July wenever ir comes

Probably the biggest negative about this camera is the lack of a built in flash. I bought a flash unit to go with it. It works quite well with no red eye yet.

No WiFi build in. Compatible with Windows and Mac. It is possible to extract the SD card and read it directly.

after browsing through the camera's setting. I dont see an option to imprint dates on pictures. However, the camera does record dates in the picture's meta. Hope this answers your question.
