After some heavy use, especially while sweating, you could tell it definetely was not real. No sweat absorbtion or staining. This is good and bad. There was some darkening of the color which added to the appeal, and the lack of staining kept the case looking nicer than it would if it was real leather. As an aside, I've had a bit of a bigger disappointment in the case not fully keeping it's snug fit. It's more loose now than it was. Not overly so and not a functional impact, but I still notice it. For the money paid, this still offers a great value. It's decent looking and does protect the camera from random scratches and light bumps. see less

Dear Esther,
I checked out DPReview.com under buying guide - camera side-by-side compare and did not see the disc w300, but did see the dsc wx300 and w310. Both of these are slightly smaller than my RX100 M2 but it would not be a proper close fit. There is also the question of where the tripod thread is located. I would suggest you ask Megagear for suggestions, or look for a belt worn soft pouch with shoulder strap from some manufacturer as Mountain Gear.
Good Luck,

Answer:
DPReview.com says that the RXM100M3 is about 1/10th" of an inch thicker than the M2 which might make the LCD foldout a little tight. I have to untighten the bottom attachment screw one turn as it is, so that might be a problem. If you primarily use the viewfinder it might work though. I would check with MegaGear first.

You do have to take 30 seconds to remove the case to get at the trap door for the battery and the SD card. Quite frankly, there really isn't a better way to attach the case to the camera. Velcro? Answer:
Traditional nylon strap and buckle (like a normal camera strap). The case is holding up well and I have had more than a few people comment how cool the case looks.
