The excellent touchscreen let you tap on the screen and camera focuses instantly on where you tap and takes the photo. Very intuitive. Sensor is advance backlit CMOS and with the 1.7 lens you can do much better in low light than the Canon. I've had at least five of the G's and I think the XZ-2 is every bit as good. The only thing missing that might tilt in the G12's favor is the lack of an optical or electronic viewfinder on the Olympus. However, I bought the hotshoe mountable viewfinder and use it when I need it in bright daylight. If you want good photos at a reasonable price point, the XZ-2 is a good choice. see less
