I haven't had a single HDMI issue yet and I've had mine for over a month now. I have a Sony bluray player, a PS4, a Roku 3 and an Amazon Fire TV hooked up to the receiver. The receiver is awesome, I love it. I usually go with Onkyo receivers, but wanted to give this one a try and I'm glad that I did.

I'm not familiar with the HDMI issues with this device. I have been using it flawlessly for several months. The Apple AirPlay and wireless connectivity work like a charm. The HDMI connections were a breeze and eliminated a huge tangle of old analog cables in the back.

Yes, but I have not hooked that part of it up yet. It seems to have a lot of things I have not yet connected. Extremely satisfied with the purchase however.

I haven't seen the HDMI handshake issue with this receiver, but I know there is a flaw with HDMI implementation in general that can and does cause HDMI issues with many devices.
