Eye-Fi is ending support for the X2 line on September 9, 2015. The only thing you can do with X2 cards after that is transfer images to your computer/phone/tablet.

yes. you can enabled selective upload mode then it will only upload photos that you select. on all my cameras this is by using the protect button or menu option

Placing other photo files on the card while in the camera, if it could be done, might cause problems or in the least, not be viewable in the camera. You might try placing photos directly on the card after you've backed up your card to see if they're visible in the camera. For its designed use, it does work quite well. see less

If I understand correctly, the Mobi can *only* load to a mobile phone and never directly to a computer. Admittedly, I'm not sure about that since their documentation is so poor.

Some cameras have wifi built in but when I looked, this seemed like the best option... but it didn't work well for either of my cameras to accomplish what I wanted. Sorry, I know that probably doesn't help.
