The roku is actually a small "computer" that attaches to your tv and downloads movies and more through your internet connection. If you are using ATT uverse your in good shape. If you haven't already I highly recommend going with a wireless router and connecting your roku through the router wirelessly. This is super easy to connect and operate. So easy a fool like myself can do it. you will then have access to amazon, Netflix, popcornflix, premier, lifetime, spirit clips, and so many more. Netflix will cost you around nine bucks a month (cost per year is just slightly more than we were paying monthly for dish network-) and you have unlimited access to as many movies as you wish to watch. Same deal with amazon prime. spirit clips is like three or four dollars per month and there are multitudes of freebees on the net where you only have to watch an occasional ad, nothing like the endless commercials on the tube. Do it, you won't regret it. see less

Answer:
Absolutely. I have an old TV as well and it hooked up beautifully. The only issue was I had to unplug my DVD player in order to plug it in but that's no big problem.
