"To clarify for @justwhut and others asking, the free bonus game and the extra GTA$300K via Rockstar Warehouse is only available for everyone who pre-orders the digital download of GTAV for PC (until February 1st). If you previously had preordered the physical version of the game at the Rockstar Warehouse and would like to change your order to the digital download version in order to get the free game and extra in-game money, you can easily cancel your original order and then pre-order the digital version. Act quickly though, as again the deal expires February 1st."

Answer:
most retail pc games now just require you to install the game from disc and then play from the hard drive. some older games do require you to have the disc in the drive while playing but that was like mainly 7-10 years ago.
