I purchased the last expan, Mists of Pandaria, through Amazon. It was delivered day of launch using the standard shipping option. So, by the time I installed the people who waited in line for the midnight release and people who bought digital had a 12 hour head start.

No idea, but not very please with Amazon right now. I placed my order back in August, and it had a guaranteed delivery date of 11/13/2014 by 8:00 pm. It is now 3:00 pm on 11/13/2014 and it has NOT even shipped yet.
