This is the classic story of good versus evil that you have read about so many times, but it is told by a writer with great talent. Manolo, who is a truck driver, goes to the rescue of Maria, whose virginity has been sold to the "evil" guy. The action is fast paced and there are passages with great humor. You should be able to read this book in one sitting! This novel will give you an idea of the talent Arturo Perez-Reverte has. I recommend you also read The Fencing Master, The Flanders Panel and The Nautical Chart. |
