5.0 out of 5 stars replacement livewell aerator, August 7, 2009
My livewell and bait tank aerator died and I needed a replacement. The Attwood 500 fit the bill for my 10 year old boat, I installed the new unit and back to the lake. New unit replaced original unit perfectly, no additional cutting or hose additions. Unit works great, great replacement part. Everyone is happy again.

5.0 out of 5 stars Terrific aerator at a great price!, October 15, 2010

Well, being able to simply pop off the pump and replace it in the event it quits working is really easy and time saving. Also, the low price had a little to do with my purchase too.

The last pump I had was an Attwood 500 gph pump, it worked great for a lot of years then finally gave up the goast. I decided to go to an 800 gph pump, it connected up just like the 500, but it really pumps more water while it is running so it should call for less running time. I like the way this pump comes apart to clean trash from the impella. My old pump did not have that and it was real hard to keep cleaned out in trashey water. Love it.

5.0 out of 5 stars This is the pump used in the Fly High Tsunami ballast pump kit, September 18, 2011

I decided to piece together a cheaper ballast pump kit than if you buy the Fly High Tsunami, also available on Amazon:

[...]

I bought this pump, soldered on a 12V cigarette plug with a long wire, purchased some 1" hose, two hose clamps, and the quick disconnect adapters, and have the same kit for about $50 less. Pump really moves some water, and is fully submersible.

These pumps are also popular if you want to do integrated ballast pumps on your boat, though I will be going with the more expensive reversible pumps instead of aerator pumps when I tackle that project this winter. It's too bad the marketing is all for the fishing guys, as the wakeboarding / wake surfing crowd buy a lot of these pumps, and usually in multiple quantities.
