o. b. Ultra Absorbency Tampons are designed for your heavy days. All tampons are designated by absorbency, and absorbency ratings are standard among all manufacturers for ease of absorbency comparability among brands. All Ultra Absorbency Tampons absorb the same amount (15 to 19 grams).

To reduce your risk of getting menstrual TSS, select the lowest absorbency to meet your needs. Regular Absorbency (Light Flow; 6 to 9g); Super Absorbency (Moderate Flow; 9 to 12 grams); Super Plus Absorbency (Heavy Flow; 12 to 15 grams); Ultra Absorbency (Very Heavy Flow; 15 to 18 grams). Use for 8 hours maximum. Made in Canada.

This absorbency level used to be super plus before OB marketing people up graded every level by 1 (regular became super, super became super plus, etc). This is THE only tampon that can stand up to the one or two heavy flow days a month. Without them I would have to choose between taking a sick day every month and camping out in the ladies room during the heaviest part of the day. Neither option is career enhancing. The only caveat is to use them appropriately only on heavy days and not as a substitute for an all day pad. The last thing we need is someone developing Toxic Shock Syndrome from not practicing intelligent hygiene and then blaming the product. They are very hard to find in drug stores. I haven't been able to find them in any of the local drug store chains in a long time. Thank you Amazon!

I have suddenly stopped being able to find this in the stores. I actually called OB to find out if they stopped making it, and they claim they haven't. And yet, it's been on backorder for Amazon too. So I made an order and I'm waiting, waiting, waiting....

Please hurry and get it back in stock! There are three women in this household who are getting desperate!

I contacted O.B. today and according to them, they have halted production of the Ultra tampon as of August 2010, but will resume production in May, 2011. From what I understand, they are changing the product. What those changes are, I do not know.
