The Story of Breville
Inspiration. Every day.
Through a rich and colorful 75 year history, Breville has enriched people's lives. Founded on Melbourne Cup day in 1932, Breville Radio quickly realized the aspirations of two young Australian entrepreneurs, Bill O'Brien and Harry Norville. The name Breville is a derivative of their two names.
After a 75-year journey, which has seen changing lifestyles and technologies, Breville has grown to become an iconic Australian brand. Design and innovation has underpinned this success. From the world's first scissor-action sandwich press maker in 1974, to the wide feed tube Juice FountainT in 1999, and the Die-Cast Series of today, Breville has provided inspiration to generations of customers.
Since its launch in the United States in 2003, Breville has continued its commitment to innovation, garnering an impressive collection of international design awards. With products in juicing, espresso, toasting, cooking, and blending categories, Breville's name has become synonymous with performance in a very quick span of time in the U.S. market.
Headquartered in Sydney, Australia, Breville remains loyal to its original mission: making products that people will use and enjoy.
