Selecting a Kjeldahl bulb on Amazon.com
A Kjeldahl bulb is laboratory glassware used for distillation, most often for performing the Kjeldahl method of determining nitrogen levels in a sample. Also known as a Kjeldahl ball, a Kjeldahl bulb is a type of splash head because it prevents liquid from carrying over from a flask into a condenser. It consists of a bulb with a long, straight stem at the base for inserting into a flask and a bent stem at the top for inserting into a condenser. Sometimes a Kjeldahl bulb includes a rubber stopper on each of the stems for a secure connection. Most Kjeldahl bulbs are made of borosilicate glass which is durable and able to withstand temperature changes. They are used in scientific experiments and procedures.
