Selecting a Pressure Transmitter on Amazon.com
A pressure transmitter, sometimes called a pressure transducer, measures pressure and converts those measurements to electronic signals. Commonly used in industrial process control, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, and other mechanical engineering applications, a pressure transmitter sends signals through an electronic system to help monitor pressure levels in equipment for safe and efficient operation. Considerations when choosing a transmitter include the required output signal, the pressure range to be measured, the environment in which the equipment is being used, and the type of application. The pressure range measured varies among pressure transmitters, but some can be adjusted to measure pressure in a wider or narrower range than the given range for finer control of the equipment. Some transmitters are designed to withstand shock, vibration, or high temperatures. A differential pressure transmitter measures and transmits the difference between two pressure points in a system. Manufacturers include Rosemount, Wika, and Foxboro.
