Selecting a Dissolved Oxygen Meter on Amazon.com
Dissolved oxygen meters, sometimes called DO meters, measure the amount of dissolved oxygen present in water. This helps to determine, for example, drinking water quality, the health of lakes or streams, and aquatic organism sustainability. The meter has a dissolved oxygen probe, also referred to as a dissolved oxygen sensor or electrode, which is inserted into the sample to perform the measurement. Some dissolved oxygen meters also measure other parameters, including temperature, pH, total dissolved solids (TDS), and biochemical oxygen demand (BOD). When a meter measures four or more parameters it is called a multiparameter meter. Uses for dissolved oxygen meters include pollution control, aquarium maintenance, and quality testing in the food and beverage industry. Manufacturers include YSI.
