"You don't know how big baby will be when born (if your doc has a reasonable guess) and you don't know how fast (or slow) the baby will grow, so go easy on the Newborn size diapers. Especially if you are giving diapers as a gift, give a few size 1, size 2, size 3. Pampers Swaddlers are very soft for baby's bottom!"
"If you buy the Potette, get at least one bag of refills. It's possible to rig something up with other kinds of bags and absorbers but you want to get the hang of it first before you attempt any potentially messy maneuvers!"
"We never used these for diapers. But they are great for burp cloths and wiping snotty noses. We also have a slightly thicker type but I'm not sure which one that is on Amazon, otherwise I'd recommend that too."
"Dual monitors are important if you are working in different areas of the house while baby is sleeping. Another important aspect of this monitor is that it transmits all sounds. I had another monitor that transmitted only sounds when they reached a certain threshold. With this monitor, if you turned the volume of the receiver up high enough, you could hear your kid turn in bed!"
"The exact brand isn't important here - the size is. These are 30"X40" and that's big enough for swaddling. Smaller receiving blankets can't wrap up a baby and therefore I don't think the smaller ones are as useful."
