I love the Oeuf Sparrow crib yet couldn't bring myself to spend $800+ on a baby bed. I searched everywhere for a grey crib with a modern ascetic. I finally came across this Hudson crib and knew it was the one. My son's name happens to be Hudson making it that much more fitting. The wood is sturdy and of very good quality. The grey color is beautiful, although a little lighter than the Oeuf. The open slats on all four sides make it airy and comfortable for baby. It took us about an hour to put together and we had no problems. There are 4 different mattress height options. The crib sits low to the ground which makes it easier to get baby in and out without breaking your back. It comes with the toddler rail which is an added bonus. You have to buy it extra with the Oeuf at $200+. I am so happy that I found this crib. I would recommend it to any family.

UPDATE: At 18 months my son figured out how to crawl out of the crib. I was so glad we already had the toddler rail as we had to do a quick change late one night to prevent my little guy from breaking his neck. It was beyond easy to unscrew the front panel of the crib and attach the toddler rail. It took us all of 10 minutes. It's a huge transition from the crib to toddler bed (for both baby and parents) but it was made so much easier because we could continue to use the crib he'd been sleeping in from the beginning. I am still so glad that I chose the Hudson crib over the Oeuf. It has held up very well and is in great condition after almost two years. I expect that we will continue to use it for at least another year or so.

My wife and I ordered this crib to be used for our first child. Previous customer feedback seemed excellent, and we both absolutely loved the modern look of the crib based on the pictures. We both really liked the look of the Oeuf Sparrow Crib, White, but neither of us wanted to spend $700+, and this crib looks very similar in design. Another major concern of ours was that our nursery isn't very large (roughly 10'x9'), and we wanted the crib to be on the smaller side to keep from looking out of place in the room. All cribs accept the same size mattress, and are roughly the same size, but this one doesn't have an imposing "headboard" like most do, nor does it have any curvatures that would make it take up any unnecessary space.

We received the crib from Amazon very quickly, unboxed it, and found the set up to be fairly straight forward. Some previous reviewers have complained that they found the instructions confusing, but unless this is your first time ever assembling flat-pack furniture, you won't have much trouble at all. However, we had a likely uncommon problem. After assembling 95% of the crib, I got to the last step of screwing the front side of the crib on, when I realized that the very last piece was drilled incorrectly from the factory. The three mounting holes on one side were drilled opposite of the three mounting holes on the other side, so it was impossible to install. Normally in these situations, I'd just bust out my drill, create a hole in the correct spot, and screw it together; but these holes had metal "receivers" embedded in the wood for each bolt, and because it might be a safety issue, I wouldn't have been comfortable drilling my own hole for the bolt knowing it might not be as sturdy as necessary.

Thought i'd write a review as often people purchase this crib because they like the Sparrow crib but do not wish to pay $700+ for a crib. I have both cribs, both were a gift so I have no bias. The best way to describe the difference is the same difference you'll see if you wear a pair of pants that cost $30 made of a polyester blend and then wear a high end pair of pants made of wool/cashmere etc.
On the surface they are a pair of pants and do the same job and are both perfectly adequate and look very similar. On closer inspection there are design differences, material differences and it's the same of the crib. Now whether they are worth a $400 is up to you and yours. The babyletto has bars all round, the Sparrow design is a little different it's a combination of bars and panel. I like this better as if feels more like a bed. The slimmer bars on the Sparrow also feel a little less cage like and the Sparrow is taller. The Sparrow is made from all wood and is definitely lighter. The Babyletto has a metal platform for the mattress and metal fixtures. It took my husband literally 5 mins to put the Sparrow together, he was not impressed with the fiddly nuts and bolts on the Babyletto. He thinks the mechanism for changing the height of the crib is nonsensical (need the key and wrench) compared to the simplicity of the Sparrow.
As I said, minor details for some so I recommend it as a modern alternative to the ornante/traditional cribs. I only needed a second crib because we got pregnant again soon after having my first baby, other wise I would have used the Sparrow for the second baby to get the milage. Budget is not really an issue for us but I am glad to have received the Babyletto as it goes with overall design and aesthetic of our home and baby's room .
