Let me say that I love this crib. It is exactly what I was looking for. It really resembles the Bloom Alma mini crib (I mean almost exactly) and is significantly less expensive. Having said that, when looking at a mini crib, make sure that it is what you really need. We needed a crib to fit in our room, as my older son has not yet out grown his crib. I really didn't have the space for a standard crib in my room. Before doing some research, I had never heard of a "mini crib". I looked into bassinets, but they only last for a short time (3-4 months) and according to consumer reports are not held to the same strict standards that cribs must adhere to. I bought this crib with a 3 inch mattress "Dream on Me 3 Spring Coil portable crib Mattress". I originally was going to buy it with the mattress sold on the MDB website, but when reading further I realized that this crib is only compatible with a 3" mattress and can not accommodate a 5" mattress. I tried to contact the MDB family for verification (I am neurotic) but you can only contact through email exchanges. They did get back to me promptly, but only redirected me to information that I had already read. I am happy with the compatibility. The only other thing is when the crib was shipped it did not come with directions (eek). I hope this was just an oversight and not a common practice. My husband found a pdf file of the directions easily on the internet and assembly was fairly straightforward. It took us about 15 to 20 minutes to assemble. All in all it is perfect for our situation. I chose not to go with a mini convertible crib this time as I am sure I will want my boys' beds to match when I can put them in the same room, so for us this was the perfect crib. I hope that helps as I could not find one review of this crib anywhere.Read more ›

I read so many reviews and went back and forth on this mini crib. I'm so glad I ordered it. It's very easy to put together, mine does NOT have some weird smell like other reviews warned me, it rolls easily between rooms, looks super chic in our one bedroom NYC apt (even in our living room), and best of all it fits my little guy very well! I like that it's a little wider than some comparable ones. He has room to stretch out and move around. He's been using it since 3 months and is almost 7 months now (he's 85% for weight 66% for height). We are very happy with this solution for our cozy yet stylish space. One caveat - the mattress pad is not comfy and loud when he moved around so I recommend getting something else - I ordered the following for it:

DaVinci Crescent Mini Crib 50 coil mattress (sturdy and deep but not super comfy).

Milliard 2" Ventilated Memory Foam Portable Crib Mattress Topper (24"x38") - HIGHLY recommend getting this as it helped my baby go from tossing and turning to sleeping comfortably!!!! Priceless.

I spent a lot of time looking at mini cribs before deciding on this one. Most other brands seemed flimsy. I wanted a "real" crib from the first day we brought baby home that would fit in our bedroom. My first child slept so much better on a real mattress compared to a bassinet or pack-n-play. This crib has two level options which is nice for the first few months. The 3 inch mattress works great and it is not recommended to use anything thicker if you plan to use the top level. I also purchased a breathable bumper (mini-crib size) which also fits great. The wood is beautiful and the manufacturing quality is good. We purchased and assembled about 8 weeks before baby arrived. It took about an hour to assemble. It did have a bit of an odor for the first few weeks so I am glad we did this ahead of time. Baby is now six months old and still has plenty of room and she is no shrimp (90% in length). I anticipate she will be able to stay in it for 18 months and maybe more if she is not a crib jumper. I am completely satisfied with this purchase and glad I did not go with a cheaper option.

We ordered this crib to use in our bedroom as a "bassinet" for our newborn baby. We chose it because we liked the Alma Bloom mini crib and this was a less expensive option by about $100. There were also more inexpensive mattress options and crib sheets that fit the Babyletto crib, and the Alma crib uses only there own, higher end mattress, so we saved some money there too. I read the reviews and saw the negative remarks about the Babyletto's strong chemical smell, but thought maybe people were just being picky, so we ordered it anyway. Indeed, I noticed the smell as soon as I opened the package. I decided to air it out to see if that helped. We waited a couple of days and it seemed better, so my husband assembled it. That's the second strike against this product - the assembly is ridiculous. There are so many parts and it is VERY time consuming and cumbersome to put together. The quality of the wood seemed cheap (it's MDF, not real wood) and the screw holes were not deep enough for the screws and they actually punctured through the other side causing noticeable damage to the crib; not to mention there were several chips and scratches that we noticed after better inspecting the crib during assembly. The corners looked banged up, and the paint was already peeling. After finishing the awful assembly process and deciding that it took so long to put together we were just going to live with the damaged areas, we took the crib upstairs to our room. That was a chore since the crib was extremely heavy. Now, back to the smell...Once in the enclosed space of our room, there was that horrible chemical smell! It was so strong that after a few minutes I had a headache and had to remove it from the room. I am astonished that people can use this at all, especially for babies!Read more ›
