I received the crib about 1 week after purchase (Free Super Saver Shipping). The box was pretty mangled but the crib was in perfect condition. I am 37 wks along and put the crib together myself in about an 1hr (using a screw gun instead of a screw driver), much to the dismay of my DH. The drawer is pretty flimsy I plan to put items in there that won't be used very often. Also, it's probably wise not to over tighten the screws to the drawer because I think it would definitely split the wood, the directions mention that as well.

As long as you organize the parts before starting the assembly you'll be fine in getting the crib together without issue. It would be nice if the crib had casters but since it doesn't I used furniture glides so I can move it easily across the carpet. I worried about the sides not being movable but I talked to a friend who has a crib with movable sides and she said she never uses it so that got me over that hump. I purchased a crib skirt since you can see into the drawer from above/below the mattress. Also, since the top rail is wider/thicker than most "conventional" cribs I found that I couldn't attach a mobile to it, and I haven't figured out a solution to that issue yet.

Overall, I am very pleased with the purchase and would definitely recommend this crib if you are looking for a modern design.

April 2011: Baby #2 is now residing in this crib and it still looks and functions just as great as it did for Baby #1. The drawer is still functioning (even w/having moved 2x since the original assembly). Baby #1 & #2 have both left teething marks on the top rail. I used a dark furniture stain marker/pen to try and "erase" the teething marks which worked pretty well. I have since attached "sticky" teething guards.

This crib had been great for well over three years. My oldest son slept in it for 2+ years and my youngest has slept in it ever since. However, we recently converted it to a toddler bed (great option!) and encountered our first problems. I have ZERO complaints about it as a crib. #1 When we installed the toddler rail it created a large gap between the drawer and the bottom of the rail that just frankly looked bad. It was nearly 2" and was unsightly. It could easily fit lower but the holes were drilled in a way that would not allow me to put it any lower. We have the recommended cardboard between the mattress and metal grate that holds the mattress up and it stuck out and looked awful. We put a blanket there to cover it up but that rendered the drawer useless. Oh well. #2, the screws included for the toddler rail were too long for installation. When screwed tight the rail moved quite a bit as did the sides of the crib/bed. I further tightened it down to stabilize the bed and the screw split the back of the crib because it was too long. Now I have a toddler bed with a non-functioning drawer, a loose rail, and a split side. However, this crib was perfect and we had no issues with it as a crib. I am contacting the manufacturer.

I was the one (not my wife) who pushed for the crib. I thought that this crib was attractive and that the extra storage was a big bonus. It was somewhat easy to put together and is sturdy without unnecessary shifting or rattling. All in all, a very good crib once assembled.

But then my son started teething. He stood up today (at 7.5 months) during his morning nap and literally anihilated the crib rail in 10 minutes. I came in and his face was covered brown (from the espresso rail) with a a large amount of brown liquid on his sleeper. The crib bumper had brown stain as did the fitted sheet. He was wailing and I could see a bunch of particles of wood in his mouth and the area around his mouth had turned brown. What a f****'ing nightmare to walk into with your first born!!!

I had been told about teething on rails and was concerned, but this surpassed the wildest expectation I could have ever had. There has been a lot written about this crib on this issue and wish I would've paid attention.

Further, I know that teething on cribs is common and there have been many parents who've seen scratches on their crib, but I am NOT lying when I say that the wood on this crib is about as hard for your kids to bite off as a block of tofu. My kid could not chew through an apple as quickly as he chewed through this rail.

See the pic. I am not lying - 10 minutes. (and no my kid is not a beaver) -[...]

All in 10 minutes. What a garbage product. Avoid. Avoid. Avoid.

(By the way, I reached out, they will sell me touch up paint to cover the teeth marks. Hopefully the paintbrush doesn't leave scratches in the wood.....)

We purchased two of these from a chain retail store, as I wanted one with the wood colored drawer, not the painted white drawer. I love them! I was a bit concerned about the quality of the wood based upon other reviews, but the quality is actually very nice. Yes, the wood is a little soft, but it's not horribly soft. Also, my thought was, I know that every teething kid is going to chew on their cribs, as it's just natural to want to chew everything during that stage, and I would prefer for them to chew on a softer wood, then a harder would which could do damage to the teeth or gums. The assembly was easy (for my husband). Everything fit together nicely and the drawer slides really smoothly. This was a great find for twins, when we're short on space. We use the drawers to store their extra blankets, sheets, sleep sacks and burp cloths. I heavily researched a lot of cribs before committing to this purchase, and the company customer service was very helpful at providing me detailed information on the paints and woods used, and even went into detail on how the wood was harvested. The company employs environmentally sustainable practices in harvesting which was important to me, and its just an added bonus that the crib is modern and stylish. Some reviewers suggest that it's difficult to find a mattress that fits. We used the L A Baby Organic Cotton 2 in One Orthopedic Crib Mattress, White and it fits perfectly --- snug enough to prevent the mattress from sliding around and the baby from getting stuck between the mattress and the crib, but just enough space so that it's not too hard to remove for sheet changes.
