5.0 out of 5 stars A great compilation and beautiful music, July 2, 2010

This review is from: back soon (Audio CD)
I've just recently been exposed to Roedelius' music - within the last few years - and became hooked immediately. He's a true pioneer in the forming of electronic music, and yet has been totally under the radar all these years because of lack of press and exposure. Now Roedelius and also his band Cluster are getting their due. This man has endured some real pain and hardship in his life, particularly around World War II, and yet makes some of the most beautiful and melodic music I've ever heard. I can't get enough of it. It works for either background music, hiking music, or to turn the lights off and completely emmerse yourself in it and forget about the daily hassles of life. Some of his music is a little strange, but some people like that, and I am one of them. I gave this release, BACK SOON, the rating I did because I'm currently saturating myself with his music, but I'm also a sucker for compilations. It's made up of previously released tracks along with a preview of some releases to come - I think that's the coolest concept. A few tracks are a collaboration with a group called NOH1, and they are a little more upbeat than the rest, and are just fantastic. And if I may, I would like to thank Amazon for making so many of his albums available to buy as a CD, or download, because otherwise they are REALLY HARD to find in stores anywhere! So I totally recommend this CD for anybody that likes great mellow-ish music, along with so many of his other releases. The man deserves it. His music is totally from the heart.
