The smooth blendability of the Bare Escentual eye shadows almost has me weepy. It is superior in its silky qualities and the Passionate Plum shadow is excellent for defining the eyes. The lightweight feel leaves only the slightest powder on your skin as it adheres delicately for long lasting results. The only thing that makes me nervous is that the powder is in a container without a protective plastic element like the foundation. If you drop this, it is history. I'd love to see them make up kits of pressed powder so you could try more shades all at once.

Boy is this stuff dense! Incredibly rich color that goes on silky smooth. Quite a bargain too, since you only need to use a small amount for a big effect. I have blue eyes, and I use "denim" for special effects around my eyes. This can be tricky, since I want to avoid the "blue eyeshadow" look, but this shade is darker and richer than ordinary blues. The only caveat is the packaging -- I agree with the previous reviewer who commented that you do NOT want to drop this little container if it's open. There is no protective perforated cover. Otherwise, a great beauty buy. UPDATE: since I wrote this review, BE has added an inside cover, which is very helpful. If you like dark brown powder with bronzy highlights, try the color "Sex Kitten," it looks great as a liner and can give you a gorgeous smoky eye.

I am 36 years old and started using Bare Escentuals/Bare Minerals makeup about a month ago when it was time to replenish makeup I'd used for years and didn't even like. It was the best of the worst. I'd seen the advertising on QVC and always dismissed it until now. I was intimidated at first so I bought their most expensive kit so I could have a starting place - and they had a guarantee so I knew I could return it if it was poor quality. It took me two days to figure out what it was that I had and I will NEVER EVER EVER EVER EVER go back to my old cosmetics EVER again. Once I learned how to apply and got more confident (about 2 days) by the third day I was on fire! I've received many compliments about my face or my makeup over the past several weeks and you just can't beat that for an answer to "does my makeup look good?"

I've been using all the Bare Escentuals products for years. I love them all. They last forever. The powder foundation stays on all day without shine. I've got to agree with the two other users. They definately need a cover for the eye shadows. I had a major mess just this morning. I wouldn't waste money on the brush cleaner though. Why spend $14.00 & shipping when you can clean your brushes with shampoo and get the same results.

I saw the Bare Escentuals eyeshadows at Sephora, and as soon as I saw Soul, I knew it was the right color for me. So, I took it home, tried it, and was simply amazed. I'll never use another brand of eyeshadow again.

First off, I love the container and the way it works. Unlike most eyeshadows, the product is not in a palette, but it comes out of four little holes in a piece of plastic that separates the shadow and the place where you dip your brush. This way, you can actually see how much eyeshadow you will be using. Also, unlike many drugstore brands I have tried, it was easy to get enough of the product onto your brush because of the style of the container.

The application of this eyeshadow was the best I've ever experienced. It glided on, and the control was excellent. While some other shadows have blotched or looked uneven on my eyes, the shadow went where I wanted it to.

The bottom line? This product is not only excellent, but the price is also right. You won't regret purchasing this.

Absolutely the best cosmetic line out there... I thought it was bogus that their makeup covers red, but it really does work. For those of you with issues re: spilling the contents... do what I do; only peel away the covering of a few holes in the container, tap only a little into the lid, and voila! Perfect every time. The colors do look darker in the jar... don't let that stop you. they go on much more sheer.

I bought this product in a Sephora store (they now sell them in the stores instead of just online) and was able to try on the various colors. I liked the soft look of this product when applied with an eyeshadow brush (I bought the Sephora push liner brush instead, it worked better and was much cheaper than the BE version). However, I noticed that the powder did not stay put and gradually smudges throughout the day. If you're looking for the smudged look, this will work great. But since I prefer a light contouring (I don't put on a lot to form a harsh line), by the end of the day the contouring had disappeared and was replaced by raccoon eyes. I will need to work with this a little to come up with a way to make it not travel and will post an update. But for now I'm not very impressed, which I'm really disappointed since I love BE stuff.

So many colors to choose from in these soft powders! I purchased Denim, a pretty, striking, shimmery blue, and Eye Quickies 1, which I haven't seen on Amazon yet. (You can find it at Sephora; it's a set of two sheer, intensely shimmery colors--one silver-based and one gold-based--that I thought would be good highlighters to go with the Denim.)

This eyeshadow creases easily, but you can remedy that with a shadow base. (I use Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion, but Bare Escentuals also sells one, Bare Escentuals bareVitamins Prime Time. Without the shadow base, Denim is pretty sheer, but with it, it's definitely blue.

Some reviewers have said that these shadow containers don't have shaker tops. Bare Escentuals must have listened because the ones I bought do have tops. They're still spillable, but at least there's a little protection.

I LOVE Bare Escentuals products and have been using it for quite some time. The product does not clog my pores and is easy to apply for a flawless appearance. The eye shadows are highly pigmented and very little is needed to add just the right amount of highligts or dimension to your eyes. The trick with this product is two-fold; load your brush and tap off the excess back in to the container and blend blend blend. Because of the high pigment content the color can be too intense if you pick up too much product and because this is a "loose" powder you could load too much on your brush and wind up with sprinkles all over your under eye and cheek bones! You can intensify the colors by applying them wet. If you do the wet application, work quickly and surely because the color lays down fast and firm. Overall, Bare Escentuals products rock! I have gifted BE products to most of my friends and even got my mom to use it! Enjoy, have fun with it get several different colors and mix your own unique color of eyeshadow!

This is the best eyeshadow I have ever used- and I have tried a lot. It goes on very smooth- no tugging on the eyelids. It feels like silk and the price is great considering you need to use just a bit to see a great effect. For people with oilier skin, like myself, I recommend using Urban Decay Shadow primer first, then covering any dark circles with the Bare Minerals Multi-tasking minerals in Well Rested, then applying the eyeshadows. These eyeshadows also work well when applied wet- you get a vivid color with a lot of staying power!
