What is the battery type? If it is a recharge able, how long will it last per charge? If normal batteries how long will each set last?

A
It is Canon's LP-E6 battery and is rechargeable. For shooting photos, it'll last something along the lines of 300-500 shots depending on how you shoot. I don't shoot video, so I couldn't tell you how long they will hold out for video.

I agree with Matt. I would also recommend a second battery so that when the first is charging, you will still be able to shoot photos or video.

It is a Canon LP-E6 battery. Same one that is in the 7D. It is rechargeable and lasts for me about 2000 or so RAW Images.
