Can this battery be used with the original Canon battery in a battery grip?

ALWAYS use matching batteries. Same voltage/amperage. Don't mix old with new.
The lesser batteries will drain the better batteries, causing premature failure.

Yes... I use it in a T2i.... I tried some of the china ones (low price), they wouldn't even charge. Tried this one.... very happy, works great.

I would be very careful using the Photive battery together with a Canon battery in a battery grip, as the two batteries are rated at different voltages. You may not have any problem, but it might ruin one of the batteries.
