3.0 out of 5 stars O.K. But not that great!
R.L. Stine, switches about every 30 pages back and forth from two time periods. This Summer and Summer of 1956.
In 1956 maria, Amy, Ronnie, and Sturat played a mean joke on a guy named Buddy. He doesn't like it.In fact he hates it so much he could kill...
In this summer Ashly has a crush on Brad, but she doesn't know he might be a killer...

Beach House

Do you like beastly massive murder? In this exciting murder mystery called Beach House by R.L. Stine you will be hooked and won't be able to put it down. It is about a group of teens who go to the beach for some fun in the sun but are shocked and scared to see a brutal killer on the lose. You won't know what is about to happen until it happens and you will be shocked beyond misery. I liked this book because of its suspense, which is better then in any other book I have ever read. I also like this book because of it's interesting plot line, and finally it's great characters.

This book will keep you in for the whole book. You will be shocked when every exciting event occurs. It's impossible to predict what's going to happened you will be so amazed by it.

Next, this book has a very good plot line. It is a bout how a teenage boy starts killing his friends because they pulled a joke on him. He wasn't caught though because he found a way to escape to the future and under a new name, which is Brad and he starts killing again and there is only one problem and one person who can stop him who is one person who hw has already killed.

Finally, I like this book because of its interesting characters. One thing I like about them is that they are dynamic characters and they change throughout the book. They will trick you by being the nicest person in the world and then they will try o kill you the next day.

I think you will like this massive murder book because of it's great suspense, which will keep you in it for the whole book and it will keep you guessing, it also has a great plot line, and it has very interesting characters.

5.0 out of 5 stars THIS BOOK DESERVES 1OO STARS!, June 26, 2003

Like I said before. This book deserves more than 5 stars. I read it like five times in a row and I still plan on reding it again. That is how good and utterly creepy it is. When I first began to read this book, I was wondering why Stine kept on switching from time to time. But then at the ending I realize why. Then I also wondered why it was called beach house but the ending also explaines that too. There is really one killer but in a way, there's really three. I was so shocked when i read the ending. This is the BEST BEST BEST BEST BEST book that Stine has ever wrote. It has suspence, romance, horror and a totally heart sanking conclusion. Shoppers who are reading my review, you will not regret buying this book. It is just wonderful. I RECCOMEND! BUY THIS BOOK! IT IS REALLY GOOD!

4.0 out of 5 stars Too Cool to Live, February 14, 2005
"The sun is hot. The water is cold. And the kids are cool. To cool to live." (Beach house, R.L. Stine)
It all started, summer of 1956, when Amy and Ronnie went down the shore for their summer vacation, and nothing but bad things happened. The thrill of this book is magnificent. It keeps you reading and the pages just turn for you. After every chapter, Stine leaves you hanging which makes the book even more interesting to read.
This book had many exhilarating moments. It made you want to keep reading and never stop. The first person that made this book exciting was Maria. Maria was the first to be killed by Buddy. She met Buddy on the beach one of the first days she was there. Buddy killed Maria, but Maria didn't like him back so when she lied to him, it made him want to kill her; which he eventually did.
Another thing that put the thrill into this book was Buddy. Buddy showed up on the beach one-day, "supposedly" just looking for friends. After people betrayed him, he then murdered them, one by one. First, with Maria, then Stuart (etc.), people just kept disappearing, being murdered by this psychotic person, Buddy. Buddy then vanished almost completely for days after the murders occurred. People also found out that Buddy had a secret and was trying to hide something because he told everyone that the beach house was his, but really, it wasn't. If it wasn't Buddy's then who's was it?
One final thing that makes you not want to put the book down is how there is a secret behind every murder. After the murders occur with the few clues that there are, everything starts to make sense. After Stuart's death, Buddy had blood all over his t-shirt. After the murders occur, there's something that clicks that tells you he did it.
This book was so good that I didn't want to put it down. It was so thrilling and I really like that and the suspense of every chapter gave you. But on the other hand, I didn't like that some of the scenes or parts in the book were very unrealistic. Towards the end of the book, something's were very unbelievable. I recommend this book to anyone who likes a thriller and books that keep you in suspense.

When I read Beach House, I got cold chills all down my spine. This book can really relate to your own life. It reminds me of when I would lay out on the beach with out a care. Now when ever I go to the beach, I look out for certain signs like the the main character did. If you like a good suspense book that really is creepy, read this and other R.L. Stine stories!

1.0 out of 5 stars Amazing.. UNTIL the horrible ending., March 31, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
The book had me zooming through the chapters non stop. I stayed up late wanting to know what would happen next, who was going to die, and who the killer was. Sadly, the ending ruined the whole book for me. It went from murder mystery to sci fy. The book took a 180 and went down hill. I was very disappointed with the outcome. The ending just ruined the whole book. I was upset that I wasted my time to get that stupid "Back to the Future" ending. Major disappointment. Just plain stupid..

5.0 out of 5 stars Summer of Murders, February 15, 2007
A Kid's Review
Beach House by R.L. Stine is a very good book. It has a ton of suspense. There are a few people who get murdered because they teased someone. When I read this book, I never wanted to put it down. Each chapter ending in suspense and kept me wondering on what will happen next. The only thing that confused me was that each part they switched from different time periods. In the ending however those two time periods came together and it made sense. I loved this book a lot. If you like suspense and horror novels, you should read Beach House.

4.0 out of 5 stars massive brutal beastly murder, February 18, 2005
Do you get excited by massive, brutal murder? The book Beach House by R.L. Stine is a murder mystery that will shock the socks off of you. This story is about a group of friends that spend a summer at the beach. This story flashes back and forth from the 1950's to the present day or "This Summer." I liked this book for its characters, crazy and shocking ending, and its massive brutal killing.

One reason that I liked this book is because of its characters. There are, in the start of the book six main characters. The personalities of the characters are parallel between the two different time periods. For example, in both time periods there is a couple and they both feel similar and act similar to each other. I like all of these personalities because in one group of kids they all have different ones.

Another reason I liked this book is because of its shocking ending. This book had the most shocking ending put of all the books that I have ever read. The ending is so unpredictable. No one would have ever guessed that the ending would wind up the way that it did. The author gives you clues to the ending throughout the whole book. You don't realize what the clues are and mean until you reach the last couple pages of the book. That makes the ending really shocking!

My final reason for liking this book is because of the brutal killing. This book has the most unpredictable, and brutal ways of killing people. For example, someone gets beat down in the back of the head with a piece of driftwood and someone gets stabbed repeatedly. I know that it might sound wrong to like people dying. If you don't than why would you want to read this book any way, I mean the cover is a bloody bathing suit!

This book has great and unpredictable characters, a shocking ending and unpredictable brutal killing. My favorite part of this book was probably all of the massive, brutal murders and the way that they happen. Anyone who likes the thought of people dying, scary murder or gory movies, mysteries, or just brutal killing will love this book as much as I did. This was the best book that I have ever read!

5.0 out of 5 stars Best point horror book, January 14, 2012
This review is from: beach house (Paperback)
Many of the Point Horrors namely by RL Stine and Diane Hoh had the most predictable endings of all time, and after reading 25 or so I was beginning to lose faith in them.

Then comes Beach House, and it could well be the best one of all! It's up there with Diane Hoh's The Scream Team, and Richie Tankersley Cusick's Fatal Secrets. I could go on forever about these and others, but I don't want to waste your time, so...

Beach House is fantastic. I was 11 when I read it and was blown out of my Y6 chair. The deaths are surprisingly brutal, especially with whatever the hell happened to Stuart...shivers up my spine!

The book continuously flashes back and forth between the past and the present, and at first I had no idea why, but expected something the entire time...then the answers came, and my God are they great.

I'm not going to ruin the ending for anyone, but I just need to emphasize how surprised I was. The last climactic pages were spent in my classroom, ignoring the teacher involuntarily. My eyes were glued to the pages. What a book!

Beach Party?
Don't even bother. It's nothing compared to this.

Thank you Mr Stine!
