This follow-up to 1985's 500 Best American Films... from the National Board of Review of Motion Pictures is an alphabetical listing of titles with cast, director, release date, running time, and a one-page informational/critical text of variable quality. All this information is available elsewhere; these two photoless volumes fall somewhere between the more detailed and expensive Motion Picture Guide and Leonard Maltin's TV Movies annual. What sets this book apart from countless others is a brief comment on the quality of the commercial videocassette version of the film.
