5.0 out of 5 stars I love it
Moshav Band has combined spirituality and music in a new way. My family and I don't get tired of listening to their great music. Definitely give it a try.

3.0 out of 5 stars Moshav Band - 'The Best Of:Higher And Higher' (JMG/Jewish Music Group)
As for Isreali bands, this is only the second one I've ever listened to a release from.Members were apparently bought up on and heavily influenced by both traditional music and classic rock such as Santana,Van Morrison,Dylan and Neil Young. Some just might tag this as 'jam rock'.Tunes here I found somewhat to my liking were "Come Back",the uptempo "Waiting For The...

This best of ... is truly great. Moshav's appeal is well known in Jewish circles... but they should be crossover sensations any time now...

This album is great, but I truly love the new album
Misplaced

Enjoy!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great and Spiritual, June 29, 2010

Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)

I bought this album and lost a CD a while ago. Recently I got a new one and I do not regret it. This is one of those CDs that you do not want to part with; spiritual, sensible and energetic music. If you know Hebrew you would love it even more...

4.0 out of 5 stars Very fun to listen to!, May 9, 2008
This review is from: The best of Moshav Band Higher & Higher (Audio CD)
I first heard "Higher and Higher" at a local synagogue playing over the PA system while waiting for a Purim play to begin. I had to ask the young man operating our sound board who it was, and I ordered it from Amazon not long after. The music on this album is tons of fun, with devotional aspects present (but not more important to the feel of the music) than real life human happiness -- in fact, it is very refreshing to sense that the two don't need to be separated while enjoying the sounds. Like any music, you have to listen to this CD 2-3 times before it gets into you. My children (ages 3, 3, and 9) absolutely LOVE to dance around to "Shabbis Kodesh" for its simple joyfulness as it reminds them of the "Aye yi yi" type songs we sometimes enjoy during worship as a family.

5.0 out of 5 stars An excellent best of album, February 8, 2008
By
This review is from: The best of Moshav Band Higher & Higher (Audio CD)
A good best of album highlights the development of a band's sound over the time covered, and The Best of Moshav Band: Higher and Higher does that. More than that, I am interested enough to want to find and purchase their albums that I don't already have.
The band's chops tighten over the years, the evident product of talent and a heavy touring schedule (Moshav is reputed to perform amazing live shows.) A couple of the tracks seemed to drag through too many choruses, almost as if they had been practicing for a live audience where the give and take of energy allows for that drawing out of a song. Even so, there isn't a song that lacks for passion. A sense of fun is prominent throughout the album.
The songs bear repeated listening and high volume play. My wife enjoys the disk, and so do my 9-year-old and 12-year-old sons.
Moshav's album, Misplaced, is also very good. Look especially for the band's cover of Tom Waits' Jockey Full of Bourbon.
