If you're into her Motown days, then this is a cool CD to have. It's re-mastered, so the sound quality is excellent, plus all of the songs seem to be in their full-length glory. "De Ja Vu..." is the best song, and I'm happy that it's included in all of its 7 1/2 minute splendor.

Teena Marie has an amazing voice and style. If you're only familiar with her through her song "Lovergirl" (which is from her Epic days) or vaguely familiar with her song "Square Biz," then give this CD a try, and she'll become one of your favorites within the r&b category of music.

I have this Compilation on another form but no matter how you slice it this is a must have for Fans of SOulFul Funky Pop Jams that still are Slamming.Teena Marie can Sing/Sang&Can hang with any style you throw up on the wall.Very solid Instrumentalist&Composer.the Re-Mastering here adds another demension too the Songs.

As I previously stated in my "La Dona" review, Teena Marie is that rare breed of musician who has such a powerful ability to make you feel. Her voice is so captivating. She is able to express passion, desire, and surrender with such radiant magnificence. Definitely one of my favorite voices in music. This is a explosive collection of some of her finest work, although she's had more than 11 brilliant songs. This CD is a soulful excursion through Teena's edgy brand of "sophisticated funk" and luminous, sensual ballads. There's something magical about Teena's voice and you witness it on songs like Now That I Have You, Deja Vu, and It Must Be Magic, among others. Her lyrics read like pure poetry that only your closest friend would share with you. Teena is a goddess in the pop, R&B and soul genre. She's been underrated but any true fan of soul music knows that Teena is apart of its modern royalty. She's evoked the spirits of the legends before her and created a legacy of her own.

I met Teena in Denver, Colo. in 1978, at of all places, Woolworth, Dept. Store, 16th & Champa, she was promoting her very first album, "Sucker for your love", but the song that caught my ears was Deja Vu ( i've been there before ) her voice was so jazzy, I asked her, who her favorite artist was and she said rather emphatically, Ms. Sarah Vaughn, and I totally agreed, Teena,sang that song so beautifully, I will never forget her.and Deja Vu. Once you hear it you won't forget her voice either!. Fantastic !!!!!.

The world mourns the untimely passing of the incredibly gifted Teena Marie; she could truly sing rings around most other recording artists! Of course, if you have any doubt of that, get this CD and check out her songs! Teena's tremendous command of each song impresses me; indeed, Teena always made everything she sang into a very special piece of music you could enjoy either while you danced to it or just sat there, tapping your feet to the beat of the tune! This album has great Motown hits by Teena and the quality of the sound is excellent, too.

"I Need Your Lovin'" has Teena singing along with some great music; she sings this with panache and I love it! She never sounded better, either. "Behind the Groove" got plenty of airplay back in the day when it was originally released; and it still sounds great. "Now that I Have You" has Teena squarely front and center--which is right where she belongs and always will belong! In addition, "Irons in the Fire" couldn't be better--now THIS is great music!

Of course, the other gems on this CD deserve mention as well. "Portuguese Love" gets the royal treatment from Teena who sings this to perfection--and beyond! The music fits in perfectly with Teena's vocals; but wisely the musicians never even try to steal the spotlight; Teena's got that spotlight all to herself and that's grand. "Young Love" has a lush musical arrangement to accompany Teena as she sings this faultlessly; and I also enjoy hearing songs like "It Must Be Magic" which Teena aces as effortlessly as if it were mere breathing; "Aladdin's Lamp;" the incredible hit "Square Biz;" "I'm A Sucker For Your Love;" and "Deja Vu (I've Been Here Before)."

Diehard Teena Marie fans may well have these songs already; they should look for more comprehensive albums or CD sets by Teena. Newcomers to her magical artistry and singular talent will be amazed beyond belief by these numbers. We are all better off for Teena having shared her talent with us!

I own pretty much all of Lady T's LP's but wanted to purchase this so I can listen in the car. I don't think people realize how great Teena Marie was even back in the day. Most people probably only know her most popular songs. She was amazing then and amazing now. Her instrumental skills leave nothing to be desired. Entre Vou Lady T.

This is a wonderful CD Teena Marie has so many hits,you just won't to listen to this CD over and over again.If you don't have this one in your collection this is a must have.

Whoever decided to put these hits on this CD was right on the money. I can listen to Portuguese Love and Square Biz all day.Her voice is like dripping honey. This is a classic.

I love this woman's voice... Portugese Love, Aladdin's Lamp, Young Love, Deja Vu' to name a few. I can listen to her CD's and Albums I have in my collection over and over again. The music is timeless. We love you Teena.
