The beyerdynamic DJX-1 headphone system is a professional, closed design DJ headphone with a 50 mm transducer and a Mono/Stereo switch. It features an excellent balanced sound and powerful bass response. Due to its total flexibility and sound response the DJX-1 is a must-have for every DJ. The DJX-1 has extremely high power handling capabilities and tough construction for hours of gigging and use. In addition this unique model offers a single-sided cable, 25 Ohm impedance plus gold plated stereo mini-jack plug (3.5 mm) a 6.35mm adapter. The power handling capacity is 3000 mW. This product can be folded to half its size and the ear cups swivel and rotate to the side. The headband is padded for comfort and the single-sided cable ensures more freedom of movement.

Without exception, beyerdynamic manufactures the dynamic transducer systems that go into their headphones in-house. From the magnet and diaphragm to the careful wiring and circuitry, beyerdynamic controls quality at all levels of manufacturing, ensuring superior engineering in their headphones down to the smallest detail.

An extremely strong neodymium magnet system offers the DJX-1 highly detailed sound reproduction quality, is mechanically very robust, and needs only a small amount of operating voltage which increases efficiency. This increased efficiency also leaves the DJX-1 with greater power reserves for dynamic, undistorted sound that especially compensates well for low-spec mobile devices such as portable media players that often can't perform at the same level as dedicated home equipment. The extremely lightweight 25 Ohm voice coil provides transparency and increased impulse fidelity.

The sound on these headphones is satisfactory but nothing to write home about. I would go more in-depth about the sonic characteristics of these phones, but there is really no reason you should buy these in the first place. Why? Because the plastic hinge on these WILL break on you. Every single review I had read about these on various websites remarked about how the the plastic hinge breaks with normal usage after a short amount of time. However, I thought that maybe these folks just had bad luck. So I placed my order for them on Amazon, and--guess what?--they arrived broken at the hinge. If it cannot even survive the shipment [in a carefully packed box] then do you really want these phones? A complete failure by Beyerdynamic.

Had to contact Amazon since no shipping activity was taking place. They were delivered a day before the estimated date of delivery. Bought from and fulfilled by Amazon. Headphones were delivered fully intact, box had some scratches on it, nothing major.

Got these for 94$, they sound even, not the bass emphasized hi-fi sound feel of my fav DT 770 PRO 80 Ohm. Clamping pressure and synthetic leather does warm up me ears. I can bob my head around since they're pretty light. Nice durable cord with coiled cable.

Good for portable use because they fold up for travel unlike studio pro headphones.
